I love the new DJ's! Even if some of them are behind the learning curve. It shows the genuine hardwork our fellow class mates are putting into OUR entertainment. I have no problem listening to our new DJ's stumble over their news breifings or their political satire. I think it is great that 92J has offered them the airtime to connect more with the student body. The variety of music is amazing and refreshing. I wish there was a way I could rock a 92J bumper sticker around campus so other typical "i'm better than this place" students could be exposed to something bigger than themselves. Thank you very much to everyone at 92J. I love listening.
WLJS will really damage its listening base if local listeners loose NPR. Some of the programs are on 92J are of very poor quality. I understand students have to cut their teeth sometime, but compared to other local universities, 92J's DJs have a LONG way to go. I say the best student program on air right now is Cigarettes and Train Wrecks - great music, great host, and a great vibe. There seems to be a little too much hard rock. Four, Five, Six hours of HARD rock on Wednesday nights. Why not break it up into three programs and still allow more room for news. I've been listening to NPR on 92J for almost 15 years. Until the student DJs can step up and provide professional and high quality programming, leave it alone!

Nathan has earned his stripes, and all his listeners, all while following the rules and doing things legitimately. So when you want to talk about fair, if Hoodtalk had been on the air for years, wouldn't you expect it to get a little better treatment than a show that was just started??? I should have known that it would come to this. SO for those of you who do not understand what is going on here is the clearification.
1. Multiple votes for not just ONE SHOW but TWO came in from ONE IP ADDRESS. This is not like regulare voting. You vote in an election you have ONE VOTE. THIS was one person casting MULTIPLE votes. Its like voting for the president 3-5 times, it just doesnt happen.
2. The first incident of this occured BEFORE Hoodtalk came on the air. It was dealt with and a warning was given that if it happened again - THAT SHOW WOULD BE DISQUALIFIED. It did and the show was DQ.
3. As far as a favorite, if you want to know what MY PERSONAL favorite show is on 92J its not THE DESCENT or HOODTALK its MY BUSINESS but I can tell you that it isnt either of them. I like both shows for similar reasons - BOTH HIGH ENERGY - BOTH LISTENER SUPPORTED. Dont think for a moment that I have a favorite. COME ON I DIDN'T EVEN PUT MY OWN SHOW ON THE POLL FOR FAIRNESS.
4. As far as me being a racist - I am offended. I have a lot of friends of all ethnic backgrounds. PLUS the fact that I myself am a MUTT with different cultures in my own family makeup. So you can drop the race card anytime you want.
